Family Home Child Care (FHCC) Agencies

Family Home Child Care (FHCC) Agencies can help families find care in a regulated, home-like environment.

FHCC Agencies support individual child care providers who operate early learning and care programs from their own homes.

Consider a Regulated Family Home Child Care Provider if you are looking for:

  • Smaller group sizes of children
  • Ability for your multi-age siblings to be cared for together
  • Safe and comfortable home environments
  • Care providers who engage in up-to-date professional learning opportunities
  • Quality programming supported by ECE consultants
  • Peace of mind and security

Licensed Child Care

Child care centres are licensed and provincially funded programs offering services for children, infants to school-age, dependent on the needs of families.

  • The province and CWELCCA financially support service providers and families through grants, including wage support, inclusion funding, infant incentives and fee reductions.
  • These programs follow licensing requirements for child care environments.

The Nova Scotia Directory of Licensed Child Care Facilities can help you to locate services in your area.
